TAFE colleges are State Government owned and managed. Depending on the institution, the range of qualifications they offer varies. They can start at the Certificate III level and usually go through to at least the Diploma level and sometimes through to the Advanced Diploma level.
One of the key distinguishing factors associated with studying at a TAFE is that their courses are accredited in what’s known as the vocational education (VET) sector.
VET courses tend to focus on the delivery of knowledge and skills and some academically inclined, research based content. This is different to higher education courses.
Higher education courses also cover knowledge and skills but they include more academically inclined, research based content.
The courses listed here are based on information we've been given. Please check the institutions' websites for detailed information.
